Meet Nathan Strempel, Cara Ambassador
Nathan is Cara's first public ambassador and is a perfect fit for the organisation. Nathan is a qualified physiotherapist and has worked in the disability sector supporting children with a disability. His interest in working with people with disabilities was prompted because of his experiences growing up with friends who had siblings with disabilities.
Last year Nathan decided to pursue opportunities in the media following his appearance as a housemate on Channel 10’s reality program Big Brother.
Currently he hosts the extreme sports hour Wednesdays 6-7pm on Australia's first internet sports show, www.kgandthegeneral.com.au. He also writes a regular column for Indigo magazine and co-hosts the nitelife on 107.9 Life FM. Nathan has a number of awards and achievement to his name. Nathan was a finalist in the role model category for a Pride of Australia medal in 2008. He has also received his Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
An avid sportsmen Nathan played State League Basketball for South Adelaide. Nathan has travelled extensively and is a motivational speaker talking to school students, businesses and community groups. Over the last five years he has addressed hundreds of young people encouraging them to chase after their dreams and achieve their potential. Nathan is involved in a youth organisation called HYPA running work shops in schools. He has also been involved with Muscular Dystrophy Association camps and worked as a carer for people with disabilities. Nathan is a big believer in being a positive influence on the young people of today to help shape our world of the future! We are excited to have Nathan on board and look forward to his continued involvement with Cara.
