Community and business support is vital to ensuring Cara continues to provide life changing disability support services. There are a number of ways you, your business or community group can get involved.
Volunteer projects Cara has a number of hands-on projects volunteers and volunteer groups can get involved in, including:
- interior makeovers to our accommodation and respite services,
- external makeovers or 'backyard blitz' our accommodation and respite services,
- attend a camp and take over the kitchen supplying meals, support clients with activities, or arrange a fun excursion for the children,
- support young adults on Youth Getways, and
- assist with fundraising activities.
We are also able to work with you to develop a partnership program that reflects the goals and values of your organisation or community group while providing flexibility and a range of benefits.
For more information on how we can work together, contact Kylie Maher Coordinator, Community Partnerships on 0433 655 009 or kmaher@admin.cara.asn.au.
Community Fundraising Become a Community Fundraiser by fundraising on behalf of Cara. It's a fantastic way to develop new skills, meet some memorable people and experience the pleasure of 'giving something back'.
You don't have to wait for our official events. At any time, you can nominate Cara - or one of our services - as the charity beneficiary of your upcoming event. Use the event to inspire your friends and family, or enjoy workplace team-building with your co-workers, members, customers and suppliers.
Support Cara events Cara has a number of fundraising events throughout the year which need your support. As an individual or business you can donate products or services for auctions or raffles, take a table or be a participant in team events like City-Bay Fun Run.
In-kind support Whether it is supplying the sausages for a Camps for Kids barbeque lunch, a plumber fixing a leak or a donation of paint for an interior renovation of a respite service; Cara relies heavily on in-kind support from individuals, community groups and businesses. A number of our volunteer projects and programs require services and goods in-kind so if you are willing to help we want you.
